My platty, Betty, was nipped on the tail fin by an evil fishy. The evil fishy got removed but Betty's not very well.

Her gills move in and out fast, almost as if shes panting and theyre red underneath. She's gone really thin and she's struggling to get to the top of the tank, so isn't eating much, but i manage to send some blood worms down to her every now and then. She doesn't fan out her tail, its just thin.

I put her in her own tank but i'm not sure how to treat what's going on.

Please help me

Thanks

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Any excess mucas on the body of the fish.
Has the fish lost weight due to not eating.

It's a 21 litre fish tank, with 2 female platys in.

The water conditions are as follows:

NO3- 5
NO2- 0
NH4+ 0
pH 8
temp. 24C

She's really skatty, but no flicking or rubbing. Jumps about and then hides when i go anywhere near the tank. I can't see any mucus, she has a tear in her tail fin still from where she was nipped. She has lost a lot of weight. The only thing she seems to be eating is bloodworms that sink to the bottom- where she spends most of her time.

Please help.
Thanks

Has she lost weight due to not eating or was she already thin.
It sounds bacterial if there no signs of flicking and rubbing.
Fish can sink with bacterial infections, but once they do they never seem to recover.
