i hear a lot of people talk about keeping their bettas with cories and i had mine like that in a 10 gallon tank with a couple feeder guppies, when one day i saw my betta literally attacking my one peppered cory! his poor back fin was bleeding! i don't know if he just bumped my betta and made him mad or what, but i recently rehoused both my cories into my 20 gallon with the guppies and they're doing okay. what could have made my betta all of a sudden decide this was okay to attack? they were together for at least 2 months!

maybe it had something to do with the guppies. betta dont like the sight of guppies because their colors are similar to other betta. maybe the betta just started attacking any fish because of this.

Or maybe b/c the betta decided it didn't want to share it's territory anymore.
Just gotta be careful with the little suckers and always keep an eye on them. Just be thankful you caught it before the betta did more damage.
Really hope the cory is ok!

Poor little cory!

Our Steve loves his cory buddies. Never even flares at them. They hang out and play together. I guess you were just unlucky. :(
