any one know about where one could aquire one of these from?

the wife and i are going to set up one of the swamp tanks featured in practical fishkeeping this month and were browseing through the fish that are recomended to go in there and swaw the bettas and LURVE them so thought we`d ask

long and short....

i want one where can i get one

aparently its a diffrent type of betta to splendis.

the missus and i have inherited a 4 foot tank and we`ve been stuck with what to do with it. untill we picked up pfc today and we saw a story about creating a biotope of a "peat swamp forest" biotope thing.

and we`ve found alot of cool of fish and we think it could be a cool idea, i just like the betta and wanted some info on it but every site i find is in thai or japanese or something

its extinct im afraid but heres some info anywhoo here

In the wild, maybe :dunno: Kinda like white cloud minnows?

Anyway, found this listing for coccina on aquabid

You'll be having a hard time looking for the rarer wild type bettas in UK (even here in US). Most of the wild types on aquabid are from Asia, so... Goodluck! :good:

EDIT: Here's the other listings for the other wild type bettas more aquabid

(I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by posting url  )
hehe i made a mistake they are only extinct in in malaysia

I was going to say. . . . .

I got a pair from a singapore supplier last month but they're caught wild so I would suggest some heavy reach, getting the tank ready, and get ready to spend tons of $$$.

Go on aquabid.com.

Good luck! :good:

we`re turning the tank into a Dwarf puffer home, with loads of planted tanks

Try Britains aquatics they occassionally have the wild betta variety, I bought a Smaragdina from them recently.
