Any recommendations for an internal heater for a 150L?

I want something that is completely silent.

I tried an Eheim, which works very well but makes an annoying click/hum when the heater kicks in.

I've also tried a Hydor in-line, which I'm having to send back as I came home to a cold tank! So I am put off them now. Recently read a lot of reviews about them failing, or even boiling the tank.

Thanks in advance.

They'll all make some noise switching, and all element heaters can hum.

I've got some boyu heaters running, which you can hear click but I've not heard them hum over the filter noise, but my filters aren't quiet.

I dont mind a small click when they turned on. My first heater I had, had a very silent click, but the thing failed after about 18 months. The hydor makes a loud click baring in mind it is is a bedroom.

I'm just after something that is not very noticeable.

My hydor inline heater failed recently... 40°C is too hot for fish... :(

Yeah - come across a lot of horror stories since mine failed too. Not going down that path again.

yeah it really sucked, pretty much screwed over my whole tank... and now I've got an ugly ass internal heater in my tank... time to take it all down and rescape again soon...

Well, I don't know if that click/hum becomes reassuring after a while since it lets you know the heater is working.

If its too quiet, then you may not know if the heater is either working or not?

But personally, being deaf has it advantages sometimes, since I cannot hear, the filter, air pump water flowing and heaters clicking/humming all cannot be heard by yours truly, so therefore not bothered at all! Sorry guys!

A light on the heater is good enough for me to know its working :)

My filter is pretty much silent, so just want a heater to match!

also have a look at aquatop heaters. I run one in my 10 gallon tank that sits on my night stand next to my bed and I don't ever hear it. Other wise I run a aqueon in my 45 and its silent unless you turn it at any angle other than up and down.

I have a 300w e heater as well, no problems so far. (touch wood!)

I'm running 2 of them and they've been great, must have had them for three years now.

No trouble from either of my two E-series heaters either, If I did I wouldn't have suggested them to you :)
