beaver in the field drainage ditch

local trapper got these off our property... they have been damming up the drainage ditch... not a lot of saplings, so they build their dams out of corn stalks ...

Those are some healthy looking beavers! (except for the fact that they're dead) Hope the fur gets used. The tails make excellent leather, too.

the tails have an interesting, almost fish scale texture... I've used it for several leather working projects previously...

I’ve always wanted to get some of that for bow handle wraps. Beautiful stuff. But beavers are so cool (when they aren’t damming up anyone’s irritation ditches) I’d generally rather leave them alone.

Also have their revenge. But taste good and multiple uses.
