Has anyone heard of the balloon ram i saw them in local garden centre and they look like golden rams with air in them so i thought i would see if anyone had heard of these.

I don't really like balloon rams myself.
They are just rams (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) selectively bred to look like a balloon basically, like balloon mollies. The breeding is apparently hormone induced n Asia.
Regular rams are sensitive enough, but these guys can suffer from all sorts of problems if you keep them in anything less than perfect water conditions.
Naturally as you would except, their swimming is also impaired.
The worst kind I've seen are the long fin golden balloon rams
.
Most of them were dead in the tank...and i suspect a lot of them were DOA too.
