it had the short tail, and it didn't look like a long tail betta with bitten down tail....i released how she's MORE aggresive than most of my males, but now i'm really starting to wonder....someone said she'd have a tube under her belly if it was a "she". if it's something easy to see, then she doesn't have it....if it's hard to see, then i might have looked over it....

BACK TO THE POINT...."she" made a nest! a HUGE nest! i mean, this nest makes every other nest i've seen made by my betta's PALE in comparison. i don't know about this, but i've NEVER heard of a female making a nest and this just plain out sounds ODD.

HELP?!!?

ok...good...she was kinda wierdin me out there. lol :look:

i can't get to the website that the pics in my siggy are in....and i can't find a website that i can load the pictures to to put on here....i tried fotango, but it didn't work...

why don't lfs carry plakats? and i agree with that beucase all my lfs carries are vieltails, with the few exception of corwntails.

how do you know it's not a short finned male?

i DON'T know that it's not a male.....i'm seriously thinking that it may be....are there any real distinct markings or anything? someone mentioned a tube under her belly, but i didn't see anything....

????????????????????????????????????????????????????

i think the main reason people buy bettas in lfs s is because of the long tails. plakats are often bred fro fighting purposes too.

sorrell-thats really wierd that you got them from a lfs, was it a chain store?

i have to say people under estimate what some lfs have in stock. I got both my pineapple SD and my CT plakat at petco and both are very nice looking fish, you just have to go at the right time and be lucky.

i must be stupid becuase i can't tell the difference between a female and a plakat male :(
