today had to do some aquascaping a pretty big clippping of a plant kept leaving its pot and floating around the tank took me five times to get it right lesson learned is that im setting up a s,all work station beside the fish tank to sit down and get the work done as no matter what i try pebbles fall down in thetank and of coursese the fish goes staright to my arm good new got the plant to stay in the pot no fish got hurt they seem a bit agitated thought they ll survive the ordeal thought if I only have one tank how can i rearange stuff in the aquarium withought affecting the fishes as much? and what can i do coming clean up time with fish ?

another think i did was remove the filter to see if i got a colony of bacteria starting good news is yes thought not sure if it was a wise move

as you can tell im a newbie any info would be usefull at this point

Hey moonplaty, welcome to the forum.

With the aquascaping, I usually do a bit at a time - as not to disturb the fish too much. Just try not to make any sharp/quick movements while re-arranging plants/decor.

What fish do you have? How big is your aquarium?

When you looked inside the filter, did you leave the filter pads in water from the same tank? If your tank is cycled then the bacteria should be fine as long as you didn't leave the filter out of the water for too long.

Please can you provide us with a bit more info on your tank?

Have a look at the stickies in the top of each forum, they hold a lot of very useful information.

regards,

Paul.
