Hi all, does anyone know of a plant that will make a green carpet effect on the bottom?

You can get riccia which makes a carpet, there is a guide on how to do this in the planted section.

it all depends on your tank set up what works best for you and what sort of carpet you want

Without high light and CO2, possibly only Java Moss.

Personally I've had better luck with Java Fern than Java Moss in a low light tank. Hornwort is another good one, if you let it float up close to the light.

Haha, you're right. I read the part where he said "I'm just looking for something that would look nice in the tank", as if he meant anything at all. I can see now that probably wasn't what he meant.

I've got some Java Moss making a slow but steady carpet on a large piece of driftwood. It's pretty hardy stuff. If I can't kill it, nothing can. I've killed nearly every other plant I've tried to keep.
