Apongeton Ulvaceus

I'm new to plants and ordered a whole bunch of different plants from Java plants which came last Tuesday, One was a bulb of Apon Ulvaceus, it had 3 or 4 shoots between 2 and 3 inches long. Now 8 days later I have 8 or 9 leaves ( and a few more shoots coming through ) with the longest 18 inches or so, is this nomal and are all the Apon family so fast growing.

They're monsters! I was amazed at how quickly mine grew shortly after putting it in the aquarium. I don't have experience with all aponogetons, but the ones that I've kept have always grown at a fast rate.

This is what I keep in all my tanks. I have many different types of Apon. They grow like weeds and mine put off 6 new bulbs per stem that make new plants every 2-3 days.

I actually had to go and buy a plant grow out tank and I am thinking of upgrading it to a 40 gallon breeder tank from my lfs. Shaped like a cube.
