Afternoon.

I'm thinking of upgrading my tank from a 60L to something around 180 litres (It can't be more that 101cm as I've only got that much room to put it in  )

I've been looking at the Fluval Vicenza 180l tank This tank here.... and I've got a few questions...

1. Has anyone got one? What's their experience of it?

2. I've 'seen' a tank in a LFS however, what's it like with the holes drilled in the bottom. My first thought is "What if it leaks???!" What measures are put in place to stop this. What happens if I need to replace the pipes / are the compatable with other filters

3. What's the filter like? (It's supplied with a Fluval 205 external filter?) Again I took one apart in a LFS and it seems pretty complex (Not an issue). I'm more concerned with reliability / servicing leaking etc. Reading a few comments there are many yays. but also a few 'nays'. Would it be worth stumping the cash up for an Ehiem one? Again....will this fit in the tank?

I didn't ask anyone in the LFS as they are all stupid (no...really they are)

Cheers guys.

Anyone??!

Hiya,

I have no experience with that tank but looked at it. Think it is quite sound. The filter is meant to be great on it.

I think it is Scotslasszoe who has just bought one of these tanks. Maybe checkout her story about her tank or speak to her for some info.

Sorry couldnt be of more help.

My father-in-law bought one of these tanks a few months ago and is very pleased with it. Bless him, he's not the sharpest tool in the box but managed to set it up with no problems and so far their has been no leaks at all. I've not seen how the filter works but he said its a very firm fit and well made. He's also not the most reliable when it comes to weekly maintenance but all his fish are thriving and the tank looks very clear. I do check his stats now and again and so far everything is spot on. My husband made the cabinet for him and reckoned that it seemed to be very sturdy so I reckon its seems a very good all round tank and stand and it certainly looks very striking in his living room!

Well....I bought myself an early Christmas prezzie at the weekend.

So far I've set up the base, filter, airstone. Rinsed the tank and gravel and added a lump or rock I found in the LFS.

Tonight I'm planning on getting a few more stones and plants in there and filling it up with water before fishless cycling the bugger (trying to source some mature media) but I'm away with work next week so in no rush to do so at the moment...

I'll add piccies later when I get chance...
