I have never kept them myself, and I'm not sure about their availability, but I don't believe they are hard to care for. One needs five gallons, and they are aggressive so not much in terms of tankmates. Otos are usually a good choice to live with them. In a ten gallon, you could have two as long as the tank has lots of decor and hiding places. You will need to occasionally feed them small small small snails to keep their teeth in check, and they are completely freshwater.
