Anyone have ADF's?

Anyone have ADF's? I just got a pair last week and was looking to compare notes.

ADFs/ADCFs = African Dwarf Frogs or African Dwarf Clawed Frogs. I got a pair last week.

Hi bluefrog...we just got a pair of Dwarf aquatic frogs for our community tank. Cute little guys ...they seem to like to swim up to the corys and start kicking them in the face a lot ...the corys usually just ignore them .
Do you have the Dwarf frogs, or African clawed frogs? I have read that the clawed frogs can get pretty big, and have a tendency to eat smaller fish

Hi Pufferpack, I have the African Dwarf Frogs. They only get about an inch in body length. The African Clawed Frogs do get up to about 5 inches (I think). I'm now having problems, as i had to clean the tank and change the substrate (the frogs can ingest the small gravel). My male, who sang the first four nights I had him is now not singing and the pair haven't eaten in three days (they can go 10 days w/out food). They are great fun, and I have contacted a frog 'specialist' concerning the problem I'm having. How are yours doing and what kind of fish are you keeping them with? The cories are good, so I've heard. What are you feeding your little frogs? Mine were loving the frozen brine shrimp (before the tank cleaning.) Thanks for your reply!

We have our pair in a community tank with Platties, Mollies, Corys,and Neons. Nobody bugs them, usally anyone who comes too close gets kicked in the mouth They haven't sung for us yet (not that I've heard) but they do seem to be having fun. Our little guys eat the flakes we put in in the morning, but really seem to prefer their nightly feedings of frozen bloodworm and Mysis shrimp.

I have two ADFs...they haven't sung yet either, even though I'm pretty sure that at least one is a boy. The smallest one (and first one I got) has the little white pimple looking thing under his arm...which is suppose to mean he is a boy. But no singing yet, so I'm not sure.

I love them. I think they are the cutest little boogers in the world!!!!

I keep them with my molly.

I feed mine freeze dried blood worms. My fish eat the same thing, so I'm not exactly sure how often the frogs eat it, but I know that they get some at least every other day...I put in more everyother day.

Make sure that you have lots of plants for them to hang out on. And they like caves to hide in. Mine like to peek out of the top of the cave that I have...they will look around out the holes before running to go hide under a plant.

I have 6 ADF i love them, i have heard them sing... they are pretty singers, i didn't know what it was at first but it is very cute.. my frogs are the owners of there tank in which they share with guppys, mickey mouse fish and neons, and are known to eat dead fish and have even eatten a couple neons who were on the slow side..
