i have some Anubias barteri nana (Anubias) in my tank... i wanna know if i have to plant these under my gravel or leave it just under the gravel and let it send out it's own roots. i attached it with some lead...

>>> Don't bury the rhizome.

... if you do, it will rot.

I have some anubias with its roots buried in the bravel but the rhizome sitting above the gravel, it's doing fine.

Do the roots need to be in the gravel at all? I have an Anubias congensis.

the roots doesnt needs to be in the gravel, the Anubias barteri nana can even be planted out of the water as long as the roots and rhizome is wet it will grow.

I have some attached to a piece of wood growing out of the water, the growth out of the water is very high.

It will grow best with the roots in the gravel, but if the roots aren't long enough to bury, you can let the rhizome float a few inches above the substrate, and it will send down roots.
