I had 2 angelfish but one of them died should i get another one.? Do angelfish become lonely? :shifty: 8)

Why do they get lonely and what would happen if i didnt

I would say it actually depends on quite a few things, like the size of your tank and the size of your existing angelfish. By reading your signature, I'm going to assume that your lone angel is in a lightly stocked 70 gallon tank. If this is correct, you should be fairly safe. Is your angel fully grown? Do you know if it's a male or a female? Angels can be very territorial, particularly if they've spawned before (because they'll be wanting to spawn again). I would try to get an angel that's as close in size to the one you've got as possible. In a 70 gallon tank, I don't think you'll have too many troubles, but there can be difficulty if you add a sexually mature male to a tank that already contains a sexually mature female.

The lone angel will be quite alright by his self. But if you wish to add more and have the room by all means add another. As far as agression goes, there may or may not be any. It all depends on the fish. Remember angels are cichlids and can be real buttheads when they want to be.

Why did your original angel die? If it died of something serious maybe you should hold of for a while. However if your 100% sure it was old age and yoiu have a lightly stocked 70g why not ;)

Not a wise idea to add just one...especially when it comes to angels!!

If your lone survivor is an adult or even a young adult, adding just one even in a 70 gallon tank could lead to problems.

It would be better to add several angels of like size and re-arrange the tank decor when you do.
