So.... Angelfish....

Stunning to look at, interesting behaviour, mix well with lots of other fish, undemanding to feed and care for... why then, don't they inspire more 'love'

???

I have four in my tank and their day to day dramas and behaviour (shoaling one minute, duking it out for the pecking order the next... then 'oh quick - food')

They such characters.... everyone should experience them IMO.

I love them buggers. They are so fun to breed, good parents, great fun to watch in general. And by far the most fun to feed because they seem to do tricks like a dog, to make us want to give them food.

I know I was supposed to be delaying getting more fish for my tank but saw the most lovely pair of angels today.... so my tank is now home to two lovely black, white and gold angels.

They're really friendly already and are very inquistive :) Glad I got Angels now :)

Angels are great fish, i will definitely get some when a larger tank allows.

I do love angelfish, I have just one I bought as a tiny 2" baby a couple of months ago and now he's just over 3 inches. Eats tonnes and is really friendly.

I think angels get a bad deal - too many bad owners out there who put them in all the wrong situations (too small a tank) or take them for granted...
They're absolutely lovely fish - I like my discus but love my angels - they have every bit as much personality and I am not afraid of blowing them up or having them keel over.
For purveyors of the slightly exotic there are these ->> p. leppoldi - demands live food but a great fish

Um, angels are one of the most popular aquarium fish, not sure about what you are talking about lol.

are they fine with neon tetra's, swordtails or platy's? and red gouramis and congo tetra's?

You will get a lot of different answers to this. I kept large Angels with nearly fully grown Neons and none went missing. I think the key is that the Angels see anything you drop in as food, therefore put the Neons in before the Angels and buy small Angels. This way I dont see any problem. As for the rest you should be fine.

I just bought five 1-1.5" Angels for my 90 gal. I plan on taking 3 back once 2 pair off. Great fish with a wonderful personality.
