Hi, I have a 450litre tank, with a pair of angels, a pair of EBA and a bristle nose pleco.
The angels have been laying frequently but eating eggs often if the acara didn’t get to them first. I’ve very much just left them to it. The acara are also doing this.
Couple days ago both pairs laid eggs, the acara being occupied with their own eggs meant the angels got left alone, and they’ve actually managed to get to wriggler stage. They’ve moved the wrigglers this morning, (the acara ate their own eggs first night). My question is, should I be feeding the adult fish? I’ve reduced feed down over last couple of days but kept feeding because it is after all a community tank and other fish need feeding, but I wasn’t sure why I should be doing for the best. Moving the wrigglers out isn’t an option, I just want to give the parents the best chance possible to succeed. Any advice welcomed :)

Continue with feeding. Even though you have wrigglers, their chances with the stronger, more robust acaras in there are small. To breed the angels, you'd really need a tank for just that.

Thanks Gary, I thought as much but I will let them give it a try :)

Almost no chance to raise baby Angels in a community tank. If you really want to raise baby Angels you should put the pair in their own tank or take the eggs out and raise them yourself. The parents eat the eggs to protect them from the other fish. Another option might be to put in a tank divider to isolate them a little.
