And It's Begun!

For the past few days I have been really worried about my crayfish as he has been acting weird and not eating. Turns out he was preparing to moult. Well I'm on the final few hours before I get to see this as I watched his shell split apart from the new exoskeleton.

I'm so excited to be able to see this. I am going to record it and post it once he has finished

I was unaware crabs moulted haha. I'd like to that sometime as well

I'm quite surprised, but it's been hours and he still hasn't started. Here is a picture of how much his old exoskeleton has lifted. It can't be long now... I hope, I'm also starting to get worried because he has been sitting in the same place for hours..

you'll be fine man! my crabs would sit in the same place as long as 24 hours... at least he isn't hiding like my crabs do DON'T TAKE OUT THE SKELETON, they eat it for calcium to harden they're new layer.

I believe he is dying... I found him today laying on his back not moving today. I do see him twitch every once and a while but I think he had complications

Oh no!  Calling all crayfish experts, advise this man! Does he/she have a name?

I've lost 2 crabs during molt.. It's a very difficult part of there life man.. I have had 1 successfully molt 2x. did he molt already?

No I believe he was starting and ran into complications or was just exhausted.

No I hadn't named him just yet as I was going to wait until he moulted to see his new colours. I will be sure to keep everyone posted

Well I'm pretty sure he died, it's been 24 hours and he hasn't moved at all

check to see if he is dead, you don't want him in there if he is causing an ammonia spike

He is the only thing in the tank so it really wouldn't matter, I just need to find a way to get into town now with no car so I can get him exchanged. It's the first time I have had to use live warranty
