I hadn't seen one of my panda corys for over a day, so I was getting a little worried. I knew there was plenty of places they can hide, so I was hoping it was in one of those and just coming out at night. I had to make sure though, so I just recently went to move all the rocks and things around..... and what did I find.. *sniff* :-( my poor lil panda cory dead on the bottom... and not just dead, many of his fins were eaten off. I'm pretty depressed... fish luck hasn't been with me lately. Anyone have a clue as to why he would have died?! The other one is certainly fine. My water parameters are all spot on, I was feeding them sinking wafers, and there's no salt in my water. Blah, at least now I know to pick up 2 panda corys next week instead of just 1. Man.. and I hope my other fish don't get sick from this. I feel so guilty for not finding him earlier and allowing all this to happen. Sorry all, I had to vent to someone who understands. My family members aren't exactly "animal people".

I don't know what could have happened hon, but I'm just letting you know I'm really sorry for your loss. ~comforting hugs~

hi Julie - very sorry to hear about yr little panda - they're such cute little fellows -mine are real piglets over food - yrs may have got stuck under one of the rocks while he was chasing the food round the tank. I put shrimp pellets in the front of the tank and they end up all over the place with the cories in hot pursuit. :/

Was he stuck under rocks? If so then he might of been unable to move. I found my female fighter got stuck regularly around my filter so I moved the filter forward. If your water specs were good...and he wasn't stuck them um...did he have any sort of disease on his corpse?
