I've made my move back to school. All of my fish survived, are doing well and then some! My betta is quite happy on my desk. His temperature ranges from about 70 -79 f. and I've never seen a bubble nest so big! :D My two guppies have joined my boyfriend's 10 gal with seven black neon tetras and three ghost shrimp. In the past week we've added some live plants....the fish have never been so active. I posted a topic a few weeks ago about a potential heat problem (no ac, third floor... *eek*), but now it seems my problem is cold! That's a lot easier to deal with :). After thinking about space, placement, temperature, vacation time and a few dozen other things, I finally did buy a tank....but not the 20 gal I was dreaming/drooling about. I settled on a tiny little 5 gal that fits perfectly in my room. It's decorated with three pieces of wood of varying sizes, a few plastic plants, natural gravel, and five itty-bitty java fern plantlettes. Right now it's cycling with a few cardinal tetras and I couldn't be happier . I'm keeping a very close eye on water condition and chemical levels and have dropped in an old filter and some gravel of an established tank. For everyone out there who has given me advice in the past month, I took it all into account. Thank you so very much! Thanks to your advice, suggestions, and knowlegde I feel I've started a hobby that has years of love to come!!
