I just picked up an amano shrimp from the LFS and during the car ride home, it turned green/blue on the inside! Is that...normal?

Scary...

Its a sign of stress, when they are settled in the tank they will get back their usual colours.

Unfortunately the way shrimp tell you when they are sick or something is wrong is usually by dying

But other signs include: change in color (if they are a milky white color they are dying or stressed), and frantically swimming all over the tank.

Thise blue color is actually common among some Amano Shrimp and may not be a sign of stress. When you say the color is "inside" what do you mean? Could the green be eggs?

Since moving my amano shrimp to their new tank with a different light source they appear very colourful, well the males anyway, with blue, purple and reds on them. The females are still very green looking. I would not worry too much unless they die!! Also I have heard that different types of food change their colouration too.
