Hi i seem to have a bit of a problem with algae in my 48l tank it gets on the glass which i scrub off with a algae pad, but i cant seem to keep it off of the gravel and ornaments it makes everything look dirty when infact it isnt, it drives me crazy. All my readings in the tank are fine is there something else that could be wrong there is one large plant in there so not loads of plant life.
Any help much appreciated.

Laura

I use to have an algea problem i kept scrubbing but no luck than one day i realize that it sat directly in my room where the sun and bright light could penetrate it all day long.

Try reducing the light to 6 hours a day and see what happens. Also, like Hmongol said, keep sunlight away!

yes i think i will try reducing the light it is on for more than 6hrs a day.

Also i bought a black mollie yesterday along with a few platys who are fine but the mollie doesnt seem very happy he just sits near the bottom of the tank he didnt eat anything when i fed them and his fin also seems clamped to his body.
