whilst my 90l tank has been cycling ive noticed a brown like thick dust slowly coverong my rocks and filter case, its easy to get off as most of it falls when you move the rocks but just wondering what it is?

Thanks, Nick

It is alega. That type is common while cycleing.......aswll dissaell as under low light....turn up the intensity or leangth of time the light is on and it will disapear

This is diatoms, what stock will you have in your tank? Once cycled you can throw some Otto's in, they will clear it in days!

Corydoras are not algae eaters unless the algae is in wafer form and fed to them. Shrimp and some plecs will eat algae but this is diatoms and only certain shrimp eat it and perhaps some plecs. Easiest way to handle it is just wipe it off of whatever it's on with your hands. It'll go away on its own eventually.
