is there any algae eaters i could get for the coldwater fish tank, as the glass soon gets covered in the horrible stuff.

thanks

There's trying to find out why you have algae and resolving that. And cleaning it off yourself. Adding more fish will only add to the causes of algae.

an algae scrapper, or snails
so why do you get algae

i have a magnetic algae thingy, that sticks on the glass

I have 3 goldfish
2 white orfs i think they are
and 2 white cloud fish in a 3 foot tank

Depends what type of algae it is. There's a thread somewhere that details types of algae and causes. But you've already got more than enough fish in the tank.

if your tank has a good water flow, then hill stream loachs sometimes called butterfly loaches are great. good algae eaters and look like little rays

hi the algae is green all over the glass.
I have ordered some trumpet snails from ebay, see if they do the trick.

I have a fluval 3 filter in the tank and and air ston.

Otocinclus are actually cooler-water fish. Otocinclus affins comes from the "Rio" area of Brazil, which is sub-tropical. They do fine in water down to 72 degrees.

I turn the light off at night and turn it on first thing in the morning when i get up.so it is on for about 14 hoursi thought the light had to be on for the plants aswell?
