Fish Crazy
I get lots of brown algae ( in a week the whole front glass will be covered, I clean it off weekly) and also some green algae, although only about 25% as much as brown algae. I'm a bit confused because my understanding is that both are caused by lack of live plants (which I brought 20 of but still didn't stop the algae) and too much light (green algae) or too little light (brown algae) - so how can I have both?
Do I need an algae eating fish? I have two raphael cats (which obviously don't eat algae - but don't want anything that nicks too much of their territory), 5 lions cove/yellow labs, 5 tiger barbs and a couple of blood parrot fish.
I'm also getting close to the one inch per one US gallon and surface area rules when all of my fish are fully grown so I'd quite like something small like that prefers a solitary life......any ideas? oh, and I change between 10 and 15% of water weekly.
Thanks
