To be honest, it depends upon the type you buy. There are various types of air-stones/air-curtains and can be made from very different things. Some of the air-curtains that bend and have a rubber finish to them, will need cleaning and a bit of a stretch after a few months or so, otherwise it appears as if the air is becoming restricted. I have used air-curtains made from the stone type material and this seems to last a long time, I have had mine for a couple of years now without issue, but I do push around 4000ltrs of air out an hour, which is a lot.

4000ltrs??? my lord 8inary, you trying to raise the titanic or summit lol

yeah i got one of the stanard blue ones, it was just a thought. i suppose when the flow start's to become slower it will either need a change or a wash at least.

i think it's just one of theos thing that get over looked, unlike for filter or water and things like that.

thanks :good:

without fish I think the cost was around £3000-£3500 as there are lots of stuff behind the scenes, so to speak.

x4 T5 lights
x3 external filters cycling 7000ltrs/hr
x1 hiblow airpump pushing 4000ltrs/hr
UV sterilizers
