I have a air pump connected to a bubble maker device, my question is
How long can I keep this on for during the day, like should I leave it on for like 4 hours and then turn it off for 4 hours and then keep repeating or should I do something different

thanks in advance
Mike

just let it run all the time or take it out. no need to turn it off and on unless your injecting co2

You can leave it on 24/7. The point of an airpump is to create bubbles which help to circulate the water and aerate the tank. It's best to keep the water circulating all the time to keep the level of dissolved oxygen in the water up. If you notice your fish gasping at the surface you'll need to increase the circulation of the tank.

thanks for the reply's, i just wanted a little more surface aggitation, hence why i got the air pump, I wasn't to sure if my filter was doing the job

you may not want much surface agitation really. depending on what your keeping. What does your stocking list look like?

I have 2 ID sharks (don't worry they are going to a better place once they are too big for my tank), possibly around a 300 to 350 gallon custom tank
