Leave him in or give him to a store/owner

I just put some bolivian rams in, and he doesnt like them one bit, he swims slowly up to them and flares his gills and fins, then attacks it. Then chases them, and is also chasing my cory cats which hes never done before really.

So do i leave him in? Or offer him to a member/fish store? Dont want any injured/dead fish. I currently put a breading tank in and iv put him in there for the short term.

Advice needed

:good:

See how he goes for now if might settle down with them.

Hes being very aggressive though, and since hes been in the breeding tank the rams have came out. When they were being attacked they were hiding behind the plant or in the corner.

Now that the betta is in the little tank thing, everytime he sees them his gills flare and he starts behaving irratically. I really dont want to let him loose, hes attacking the cory cats too and theyre only small.

Have to rehome him then upset the apple cart.

Male bettas don't tend to make very good community fish because they are agressive but also can't defend themselves very well (they are slow swimmers), they are not sociable fish and they don't like strong currents in tanks. More than often, they either end up trying to attack fish in community tanks, or end up getting attacked themselves as their long flowing fins and slow swimming abilities makes them ideal targets for fish that like to nip.
They tend to best and be happiest on their own because of these reasons- in the wild, a male betta would try to stake out his own territory in a densely planted area in slow moving waters and keep any fish he see's away from it, even female bettas can be attacked by the males (or vice versa).

He could be trying to defend his territory. Since he was in the tank first, maybe he's seeing the rams as intruders.
You could try leaving him out of the tank for a week or 2, then put him back in to see what he does.
