so my tank has been cycled now for 3-4 weeks meaning no spikes in levels and everything seems to be doing fine ( meaning no dead fish) so how often should i be changing the water and how much each time. My water has a slight yellow tint but I have been told by many thats becuase of the bog wood and it doesn't seem to be effecting the levels so it doesn't bother me, just wondering??????

General rule of thumb is 20-30% every week to two weeks depending on your stocking level. In other words, if you are lightly stocked you can get away w/water changes every two weeks, if you are fully stocked change it every week. The yellow tint (which is tannins released from the bogwood) will disappear over time.

ditto and if you are slightly overstocked or keeping sensitive fish I would recommend 20-30% twice a week.
