Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
Behaviour as normal. I have 2 of these frogs and one was struggling to swallow bloodworm this morning. Not sure if that's the same frog whose skin now appears to be falling off. I can't find the other one to see how his skin is. If it's not falling off, there's something growing on him.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 50% every couple of days as the filter just will not settle down :(

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: melafix

Tank inhabitants: 1 betta, 2 adf, 1 apple snail, 1 assasin snail, a few hitchiking pond snails.

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): none

Exposure to chemicals: none

Thanks for any help guys. If I have to move them, suggestions as to what might be suitable would be great as I have no spare filters or heaters and the only other tank I have running has the same stats and inhabitants as this one, but is smaller.
:thanks:

Post in tropical discussion. Get more help over there.
Do a water change aswell, with having bad water quality.

Its absolutely normal for them! One of my ADFs shed their skin today, in fact. Its pretty cool sometimes youl see the shape of their hand in the shedding! Also you might want to remove big chunks of the skin after falling off, it can dirty up the tank with tiny pieces but they will usually eat the skin and it is very nutritious for them! My ADFs will even help eachother out and help take the skin thats falling off one of the other frogs and take a bite of skin off. They seem to love it  oh and they usually shed their skin usually once every week or two.

As for the trouble swallowing bloodworms, not sure, have you had them for awhile? Or just got them. Are they sucking them in and spitting them out? If so,they do this all the time, almost looks like they have a tounge sticking out and suck it back in. Eve

And if you ever need to remove them for a disease, or something, they really dont need a filter if you just have two, i have two in a 5 gallon tank by* themselves* though, and do a water change usually every week with no problems.

Right, thanks for that ev michael. That would be something useful to know in the pinned topic about adf!
Unfortunately, one of them is dead this morning :( Maybe it has nothing to do with the skin then?

Hi lilacamy :) The other one seems OK, has eaten some bloodworm this morning and is swimming up to the top and about a bit. In fact, I've never seen them so active as he was today, although I'm normally at work now.
