Advice Please!

All my fish seem to be breathing very fast. This has only come about today. Although they are doing this they are still swimming around happily and are not gulping at the surface for air. Is this a serious problem?? If so any advice would be fantastic

Have you cycled your tank correctly? how long did you leave it before you put fish in your tank?

my tank is 6 months old, the fish have all been in there for 4 months at least, and this has just started happening today.

if you have sponge filtration maybe you need to give it a wash (in aquarium water) do a 20% water change as well. if this doesnt work perhaps they have some medical issues

What are your water stats (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH)? Have the fish been flicking on things in the aquarium?

do you have any surface movement in your tank?



if its not already, make sure your filter is breaking the surface of the water otherwise there wont be much o2 getting into your water.

that will cause your fish to gasp.
