I have recently bought a second hand juwel rio 400 in great nick for only 180 pounds
, It came with the juwel internal filter, and a rather old shabby looking eheim external filter. The lights are not working that came with it. The tank holds approx 400 litres or 90 gallons
I am planning on setting it up over the next month or two and would like some advice on best equipment to use, I have limited experience with big tanks, the biggest I have owned was 4ftx1x1 and have only ever used those internal fluval filters.
I would like to maximise on space inside the tank so I would be looking to get a new or second hand external filter for the tank, I dont want to use internals on it,
can anyone recommend what I should use or what they would use on it, how many lph I would need on a 400 litre tank
I would like some advice on lighting also as I am pretty inexperienced with these too.
My ideas for the tank is a community tank, fish in mind are some nice tetras, defo rummynoses, clown loaches maybe, and a smallish plec maybe a bristlenose
I think I would like to use sand or sand coloured fine gravel, some nice wood, plants, a few teracotta pots and a realistic looking skull lol.
I am new to tanks of this size so any advice I would welcome as regards to equipment etc
Also if you had room for a new 400 litre tank, what would you do with it? Id be intrested on what others would do with it?
The tank measurements are 5ftx2x2
