Adding Ornaments With Fish In Tank

Hi
Im wishing to add a rock/cave to my aquarium.
I decided to go for a simple non toxic resin one as i thought it would be the safest option.

How should i go about introducing it to the tank?
Can it be placed in straight away or should it be left in some of the water removed from the tank before hand to minimise disturbance?? If so, how long??

I am new to this and i dont want to mess it up so any advice would be greatfully received.

Do a water change and use the tank water to give it a wash, it shouldnt take much, just to get any dust off then just place it in the tank where you want it.

Leave the tank lights off for an hour or so to let the fish settle.
