I have just purchased the Juwel Rio 125 as an upgrade to my already well established aquarium. The pump i have in my smaller aquarium also provides a jet of bubbles which enable agitation of the waters surface allowing for more oxygen to enter. I know that i can buy the Juwel Air Diffuser Venturi Nozzle Set For the Pump to do the same job but I would like to possibly install an airstone or air wall at the bottom of my Rio 125 as i think they look much nicer. Does anybody know if this can be done? is it possible to attach an airstone/ air wall to the already installed pump or would i need to purchase a second pump?

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated as i cant find anything on the internet that answer my question.

I have an airstone in my Juwel Rio 300 which I run from an airpump. According to Juwel you must place the airstone in the centre of the tank otherwise the guarantee is void. As your tank is new you might want to think about that. Don't ask me how they would know! I would have put mine in the centre anyway. :) PS As far as I know it is not possible to attach an airstone to the Juwel pump.

Thanx for the advice. I didnt think i would be able to attach it to the pump in the filter but thought id ask anyway. Does your pump make a lot of noise? The tank is in my bedroom so i want to be able to sleep!

I would also like to ask about the filter. There are the plastic tubes which come out of the side of the filter allowing water to be transfered. I have a couple of clown loaches who i know to be experts at getting into tight spots. Will they be able to get up this plastic tubing? If so how could i stop them?

I find that the pump is sometimes quiet but sometimes it is a bit noisy. I think I could sleep through it. None of my fish have swum up the tube but if Clown Loaches are likely to do that I have read on here that people put some mesh across (e.g. cut up tights). There aren't any accessible moving parts inside the filter housing but you don't want them getting stuck. :)
