hi guys

i set my juwel 260 up 3 weeks ago i took the internal filter out & put a ehiem pro2 2026 in i then swapped some of the media with a friend & added real plants on bog wood from a well cycled tank.on the second week i added 5 platties then third week i added 5 copper harliquins & 5 galaxy rasboras (these were all very small) my problem is now that i only want to put some cardinals & clown loaches in , but have read on here that it is not advisable to add these fish for at least 3 months. will my tank fully mature in 3 months with only the fish i have in at the moment?.when i filled my tank up the ph was reading 8.4 ,since adding the bog wood & co2 my ph is now reading 6 is this ok? :/ the other tests are all reading fine & the tank looks like its been full for months

Are your other fish nice and healthy? I added cardinals to my tank after about 6 months and they settled in very nicely, but if your tank is already well cycled and planted up then i guess you can add them sooner, just make sure you acclimatise them to your tank depending on what ph they are at at the shop, dont know how big your tank is in gallons/litres but i suspect it might not be large enough for clown loaches, you can get smaller loaches that would be suitable for a smaller tank though.

i suspect it was the co2 i only put 1 unit in to start with but since i uped it to2 its amazing ive never had my ph as low as that :good:
my tank is 4ft and holds approx 55gallons i am hoping to put 3 clown loaches in
