A Strange Death And Another One Is Acting The Same!

Today i just noticed that one of my mickey mouse platies DIED! my mickey mouse platy she was sitting at the top of the water for a few days and i knew it was strange cos she normally swims with the male when i saw her dead her colour has almost gone. The only change i made to the tank was a water change and cleaned the filter. Now one of my serpae tetras is on one side of the tank near the top just staying there on his own (all the fish stay to one side the one serpae on the other).
Nitrite 0 Nirtate 80 (but it has been this since 4ever) dunno ammoina cos i use test strips.


what could it be??

Test strips are not that accurate and your nitrate reading high if the test strip is correct,.
take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
Invest in some liquid test kits as there more accurate.
How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
What do the fish gills look like are they pale with excess mucas or red and inflamed.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Till we know your water stats we would be guessing to what going off.,
Dead fish do lose there colour.
