My metering was off, telling me this was horribly under exposed. but I think it looks great how it is.

Not quite a fish, but it is swimming in water...

Ring tailed lemur...

This is a little under exposed, I have more which are prob better, but I can't be bothered to trawl through all of the pics. I took over 500 yesterday...

:kewlpics: <-- first time i've used that.

Epic pictures Chris, your good at taking pictures...? 'Photographer... thats the one'

James.

I'll dig through and see what I've got, but the leopard was a pain, didn't like posing for photo's. and got toit around feeding time, which I thought would give me a great opportunity for good pics, but I was wrong. It grabbed it's food and hid. couldn't see where it went.

And thanks for the compliment. I wish I was better. but I figure by taking lots of pics, I'll get better...

When I got back, I deleted over 200 before taking them off the camera because of exposure problems and blur from movement.

Another of the leopard. Beautiful animals. Shame I didn't have all day to stand there nd get more pics. I had a daughter to look after.

If you're a cat lover, here's another cute little pussy-cat.

I thought I had better pics of the meerkats

Close-up, digging

I think I'm going to have to get photoshop on the lemur. you can see the netting used for the roof (very blurred, but I can see it) And Even if pics are taken in a zoo or wiildlife park or whatever, I don't like seeing bars, cages, or netting. ruins the pic.

More, more please..........which park is it? And why oh why has that Lion had his face in a tim of blue paint :look:

This was the cotswold wildlife park in oxfordshire. not that big but it does have a few nice animals. and the madagascar section is small but nice.

and the lion, maybe has a tint of blue, but it's mainly black I think. If you look down the nose you can see lots of scratches so I think it'd been scrapping at some point.

may have to go back to get more pics, and try and spend more time with my faves to get that elusive "perfect" photo. I think I ma even take a tripod to setup to try and get the bats. didn't wat to use flash but it was pitch black, I would have needed an exposure of about 10-15 seconds to capture them properly, and I can't stay still that long.

That leopard was surprisingly small too. about a third the size of the lions. TINY for a "big cat". I don't know how old it was but it was an Amur Leopard. Which are a critically endangered species, with as few as 30 - 45 remaining in the wild. Partly because the Amur leopards have the most distinct coats. whereas other species are a little more faded, not as bright or colourful.

What else would you like pictures of? you name it, and I probably don't have it but I can find out where to take the pics. I always like to challenge myself with lots of stuff. And these pics were relatively easy compared with my more regular live bands... (low light levels, using flash destroys the lighting effects on the stage, which would be better in bigger venues with better lighting set-ups.

made me laugh though, there was another guy there with a camera a lot nicer than mine, with a much nicer lens too, and my wife kept catching him trying to see what gear I had...

EDIT:
If you want a full res version of that leopard I'll be uploading my fave pics to my flickr account when I've gone through them properly. I've resized them to 600px wide for this forum.

A full res photo of the leopard would be great

I would enjoy seeing the photos you truly love :good: but my passion is for the large cats, in particular the leopards. How lucky you were to see a Amur and get a great photo as well :good: have you got any Cheetah photos?

Seffie x

ps I like penguins and giraffes too

no cheetah photos, but I took a few penguin shots, so may have something there. and no giraffes, but the place I went yesterday is in the process of building a giraffe enclosure/house, so might be able to get some soon.

I'll repost here when I upload to flickr.

and I've always been a cat person. wonderful animals. I've owned a few cats in my time but would love to be able to own a leopard or a coupleof tigers...

Whenever I watch Wild At Heart I look longingly at the Cheetah they have - I want one :p

wow, nice shots. i think you are a photographer...

I'm not, but I do consider myself a better photographer than some so called "pros"

was doing sound for a band at a local theatre, the headlining band paid this photographera rather large sum of money to be there and take photos. the lazy ...... person .... sat in the same seat the entire time, missed fantastic pics because he was changing lenses, idiot. could have moved around the front quite easily, gone on the balcony for a different view, or even gone side of stage, or hidden behind guitar amps on stage to get great shots... idiot.

I'll find a lens I'm happy with for the situation (normally my 70-300mm) and stick with it. so i don't miss good shots, I'll also go looking for the best angle for a pic...

EDIT:

sorry forgot, :thanks:

jaguar!!! i once spend 3 months in the amazon to try see one and all i got was some foot print! you have some lovely pics here.

seffieuk - i like to see you walking your cheetah. lol

#40##, because I don't have a pro account it's not showing full size, only their "large" size. but you can buy prints or whatever......

but thats where they are....

can't be bothered to edit them. I'd need to find an extensions lead, plug in my mac, open photoshop, and all that hassle. not worth it for photos which won't make me any money.
