Ok, I always thought 60L was 10g, but using my usual converter online it's come out as 15 US gallons or 13.1 UK gallons.

Erm...which is right? God I'm slow tonight - forgive me for being a numpty, was up til after 4am with one of the triplets (croup) last night, and oh dear, it's after 2am now. :blush:

60 L = 15.8503231 US gallons

Cortesy of Google; just type in "60 L to gallons" and viola!

3.78 litres per gallon.

Therefore, 60/3.78=15.8

Funny how a gallon of milk could help you calculate the volume of your tank (provided that you live in the U.S., I suppose). :p

For some reason when I used a UK converter when I bought a 60L tank for Dan, it said it was 11 UK gallons, but when you take sand/bogwood into account I guessed it as 10g. I'm glad to hear it's a little bit more! :D

its definitely more than 11uk gallons kathy, because a 54l is 12uk gallons.

Thanks folks, now I just have to work out what to put in it! Sadly, I dont think there's any plecs that would squeeze in a tank this small, not even a QA lol. So methinks I'll have to investigate some other catfish, perhaps some posh cories (by posh I mean different to the ones I have already - which are peppered, aeneus both normal and albino, sterbai, melanotaenia, erm...oh metaes, and a lone sodalis). Mind you, I'd only be able to have a couple, and cories do better in groups...oh I dont know...and then there's the need for higher level fish....oh dear, why did I get such a tiny tank? I'm only used to big ones (said the actress to the bishop) :lol:

I really want to attempt to breed something but with my luck, it wouldn't work out and the tank's too small really. Mind you, that's not really important as my platies provide me with clucky baby moments now and again lol.

According to pfk/practical fishkeeping magazine;

60 litres = 13.2 Imperial gallons

60 litres = 15.85 US gallons

10 Imperial gallons = 45.4 litres

10 US gallons = 37.85 litres

:) .
