i when for soemthing different than i said i would get coz the fish store did not have what i wanted
so now i have
i now have 14 scissor tails ( )
6 phantom
i would also like to get so neons

so can i make the numbers to ( i do not mean all at once )

20 scissor tails
20 phantom
10 neons
,
is that over stocked in a 50 UK gallon tank ( that is like 55 gallon US , well i think anyway )

Keep with the scissor tails you have - they get to 3",
Get another half dozen phantoms & that will leave space for a dozen neons. 50 fish would be pushing it unless the phantoms were the largest there.
In a few months time the tank may support a few more fish.

If you're going by the inch per gallon rule as far as stocking goes, its pretty easy to tell how much will fit. Search on google or fishbase or wherever to find out the adult size in inches of each type of fish you have, multiply that number by the number of them you have, and add everything together. The number should equal the number of gallons in the tank. In short, yes you'd be overstocked. Without double checking on the max size of those particular fish, I'd guess that is more than twice the number of fish you should have in there. They are not deep bodied so you can stretch the number a bit, but I wouldn't stretch it that much. Its important to take the adult size into consideration because you don't want to plan on them dying young.

Hmmm... If thats all your having, I'd say get, say, 4 more phantoms, and then maybe 20 neons. All are low waste producers, so as long as the filter is big enough there should be no problems.
