Hello all,

I have had a 30 gallon freshwater tank since about Feb. I switched from gravel to sand last night. Right now i have 7 giant danios and 2 little crabs in there. I was thinking about putting some different height fake plants in there too.

What other kind of fish should i put in? I bought 20lbs of tan sand and realized that isnt quite enough, do you think i should mix another 10lbs of a different color sand or keep it all an.

All ideas are welcome

I don't know much about crabs, so I'll leave the stocking question to somebody else.

As for the sand, I would definately suggest you keep it all the same color sand, or it will look strange.

God Bless,
Joshua

i know crabs like to climb so wouldnt go with anything too tall as you could wake up with a crab in your bed  just remember to put the tall ones at the back and small plant at the front,

as for the sand, defo stick with the same, im no perfectionist but it would irritat the bananas out of me.

hope i helped

Thanks for the help guys

I was thinking maybe having a 2 sided tank, 1 side real tropical with a few trees and the light colored sand and the other side with either darker sand or little brown pebbles with a rock formation, possibly even put a sheet of black paper over the light on the rock formation side. But im not sure how thats going to look

Its up to you really but its generally not somthing alot of people would choose, its most popular to keep to 1 bio-tope per tank :) but by all means, get yourself another tank and try that idea on there :p

neither do i  but well you can try :good:

Thanks for the help. I just wanted to have 2 different areas in the tank. I will leave the sand all the same though. I can still put different things on the 2 sides. The rock formation and then a more tropical side with a little coliseum like ornament and 2 medium fake plants.

I have 7 giant danios and the 2 crabs in there right now. I was thinking about getting 2-3 angels and then some corys to put in there with them.

Does that seem ok?
