04.00pm - Began putting the tank back together ready for substrate. Moved tank back into position.

04.15pm - Rinsed subsrates, again and again and again and again........

05.30pm - finally started seeing clear water from my substrates so stopped for tea.

06.00pm - put substrate into tank along with an old decoration and started filling with water!!!!

Now all I can do is wait until it cycles and decide what to put in it :good:

What would you guys suggest?

Wow, that's alot of work! Do you have any favorites or fish you like? I think a nice school of tetras, corries and maybe 1 "centerpiece" fish would look good in there.

Well it's been a few years since I've kept FW tropicals. I used to have Blue Rams but I don't know whether I'll have them again. I will probably go with something like you said. I like bettas and my hubby wouldn't let me have any before but I've read that tetras will nip it's fins so am not sure. I guess I'll have a look whats around in my LFS's and have a read up on anything I fancy

dwarf cichlids! my most favorite fish! 4-6 keyholes they look great in schools , 2-3 bolivian rams, 1 fire mouth (dont think that this is a dwarf cichlid), thats what i would put into it :D

I will certainly have a look into them thanks :good: I'm going to make a trip to a couple of LFS and have a look what's around. I have found in the past with my marine fish that there's not alot of point in falling in love with a fish that's not available  I guess I'll have to have a wander around and make a list of fish I like then have a read up on keeping them
