3 Out Of 4 Amano Shrimps Dead

Hi, can someone help with what happened to my shrimps?

Have a 180ltr with params of:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate 5
PH - 6.8
KH - 3
GH - 16

I had 4 Amano shrimp of which only one is alive after being transferred to my other tank and not sure what happened... Day one I had a large water change no problem, dosed initial load of Flourish Excel all good. Second day macros dosed, third day dosed usual Flourish Excel, fourth day dosed macros

Everything was fine until I added the new plants, when adding I had to shift the substrate and the whole tank went pretty cloudy then the shrimps started acting funny, throwing themselves up to the surface then free falling and laying kicking on their backs... only 1 made it

Can anyone help with what happened here

Some plant retailers add copper to their plants to get rid of snails. Maybe the copper from the plants is what killed your shrimp. In future thoroughly wash your plants before adding to the aquarium.

Hi

Bought them from Pets @ Home and they contained snails, would the copper definitely kill snails?

Really strange, the remaining shrimps is completely active and normal now...

Have just read a few articles about Flourish Excel and dying shrimps... seems to be a correlation
