Hi everybody!
My first post...
I've been setting up a 16 litre, 3.5 uk gallon reef tank.
It has 4 kilos of live rock in it added over three weeks as I had the cash for it. It's looking great, lots of pretty coloured coraline algae, a couple of baby snails that are growing rapidly (can't id them yet - they hitchhiked in on the live rock) and loads of copepods (spelling?) as well as what looks like a barnacle with little pink tentacles that pop out when it thinks no one is looking (don't really have a clue what it is...).
I'm planning to get a snail (giving me three total), a crab (hermit) and a shrimp (or could I get a pair?). Sound okay?
Fish...I would like a/some fish in the tank but I appreciate it's tiny. Is there anything that would thrive in this little tank?? It absolutely fascinates me to look at even now.
Many thanks!

You may possibly be able to get a very small goby for a tank that size but I would not recommend it as it really ain't big enough and may stress the fish out in the long run! If you are intent on getting a fish then IMHO you should upgrade to a bit bigger tank ;)

IMO get a fire/blood shrimp in the tank as its bright red colour will add some charactor to your tank but then again I'm not sure if a tank that size would be adequate. Other than that I wouldnt really add much.

How about trying to grow amphipods or copepods in that tank. It can be interesting to watch them swimming/crawling around the LR with a magnifying glass! lol

ooo!! aiptasia tank would be neato. BUUUT that tank sounds like a cool place for a boxing crab for sure. I want one like crazy but I'm scared it would hurt me. My condylactis makes me nervous enough, I dont need something slinging nems at me. That tank is too small for a blood shrimp as their tentacles get pretty long. Anemone shrimp would do well. Personally, I'd do a few nem shrimp, a few true nassarius snails, and get new lights and do a few shrooms. Oh and I think you could get away with a greenbanded goby

maj's are quite difficult to come by though in the uk. Must be the rock we get although every piece of rock ive got has had maj's on.
