my tanks heater is set to 27 but the temp says 22 and has done for days is 22 ok

My first instinct is to ask, is your heater working/switched on? Because 22 sounds like an indoor temperature.

How many watts is it, and how large is your tank?

15 gallon it is on im not that stupid i dont know if its working it says on all the time i dont think it is but the thermostat might be
dono watts

Whoa... don't get defensive, I wasn't accusing you of being stupid. -_- I was worried that the heater wasn't working, or is faulty, that's all.

It's just that 22 degrees is a typical indoor temperature that people find comfortable, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's 22 degrees inside your house and your heater isn't working, or has too low wattage to make any dent in your water temp.

You need to find out the wattage. :) It should be 50-75 watts or so I think, to heat your tank.

Well to answer your question, 22C is a bit cold for most tropical fish, they prefer 26-28, so I think you should work on getting that heater to work properly, or get a new heater.

im going away tomoz and were i am my lps is shut

Hmmm.. what fish do you have?

I think most would be okay for a little while at 22 C... but not too long....
