20 Gallon Hexogon Tank

ummm there's quite a few options, cos it's a hex it limits the swimming room slightly so small fish who like lots of swimming space like danio's might not be happy. but generally speaking most small community fish would be OK.

do you have any ideas of what you'd like... like lots of colour and movement, shoaling fish, wet pets, something unusual ???

Don't put anything that likes to swim a lot or fast. Hexagons aren't very long at all, so get fish that enjoy depth over length. I'll wait until you answer Wiggle's question to give you suggestions. :D

I like fish tank are colorful and nice looking. I would rather have 1 large fish or a couple medium sized fish rather then a lot of small ones. I was thinking of 1 angelfish?

20 gallons is a pretty big tank for a betta. Especially since bettas don't grow too big. Maybe get a few small goldfish like two bubble eyes. They only grow to about 5 inches, not 12 like normal goldies. They look pretty neat too.

how tall is the tank? needs to be 18" if you want an angel in there, i'm not sure a 20g hex is really roomy enough for them, sure someone else will have some thoughts.

however if you'd like a couple of medium sized fish I'm sure you can.

how about 2 rams, 2 dwarf gourami's, and 5 dwarf cichlids like apistgramma agassizzi or cacatuoides :good:

I think an angelfish would be okay. As long as it's not one of those ones that get huge and have really long tails. Maybe a pleco? They would look really cool in one. My uncle has a hexagon tank and his pleco is spiffy :D!

Thanks for all the suggestions I think I'll go with 1 angelfish. I've never actually seen the tank my sister has and by what she tells me I think it might be more of a 39 gallon? What kind of angelfish do you recommend. Oh I also have this black gravel that I was going to put in the tank!

I like the marble veil angelfish, they are beautiful and one of the more hardy species of angelfish.

For tank mates you could go with some khuli loaches, they would great, and maybe some fancy tail guppies? I have kept guppies with juvenile angelfish with success, but the angelfish were stolen before they could reach adult size, so I can't speak on that.

The guppys would get eaten along with neon tetras and any other small tropical fish. I would say an angel with some cory cats. I think a peral scale angel would look really nice! There scales reflect the light and makes them shine! Remeber that these can be alittle short tempered as they are Cichlids and the temperment of the angel may vary. These do tend to become more agressive when they become larger.
