2 Questions

#1.I really like the looks of the Black Ghost Knife Fish. However in reading I get conflicting advice. One info page list them as a community fish and the other info page list them as semi-aggressive. Now I do realize that they get very large and require a 50 gal plus tank. However I would like to hear some personal experiences with this fish.

#2 I was chatting in another forum last night (not fish related) but one of the other chatters claims to be an experienced fish keeper. I mentioned that I had a Rubber Nose Pleco and was considering getting another when I got a bigger tank. This person said that Pleco's should not be kept together, that they would fight to the death, etc. I know that there are often more than one Pleco in a single tank at the LFS and I haven't read anything about them being aggressive toward their own kind before. Again, some enlightenment from some of you experienced folk would be helpful here.

I din't know about rubber nose. But with common plecos. Two large males will fight. At the size the plecos are at the fish store, they are still young so they aren't interested in "fighting to the death". A male and a female would get along though, just as long as they have ample space.

I dont know about the other fish... sorry.

Plecos of different species will generally tolerate each other from opposite sides of a piece of wood, two from the same species could be a disaster. It really depends on the species.
Black Ghosts will eat anything that fits into their mouth and as they are nocturnal, they may eat any tetras that lie near the bottom at night like neons.
They get to a great size, and eventually are more suited to public aquariums.
They are fascinating fish tho, and can be tamed to lie in your hand for feeding. I think a 50g will be outgrown but I cant say how fast (anyone?)
Dont keep more than one, or combine them with elephantnoses or other electric fish as the interference will cause them difficulty.
