Know those tiny tanks? a little cube with a light and a filter... I know it's too small for any fish, but could I put a few small (very small) plants in it... just for something to look at? Like some micro sword or something of the sort. I know that I would have to fertalize since there is no fish waste to do that.

Think that would work? Are there any animals that I could put in there? Shrimp, or a snail or something?

Thanks

Instead of fertilizing you could just change the small tank's water with the discarded water from your 30 gallon's water changes.

How about anubias plant with a few shrimps and smaller snails? :)

I'd say no betta. Shrimp and snails would be fine. You could even use it as a tank for raising BBS. Any that die will fertilize the plants.

Oh what a cool idea! I think I'll get one and put a plant and some snails in it. yay!

Can you lay something on top-something that wouldn't look funny up there?
