dwarf gourami golden barb

I'm just wondering whether it'd be wide to add a few Dwarf Gouramis (1 male + 2 females) to my tank; which presently contains 8 Golden Barbs.   The Barbs are fairly large and active fish and Gouramis have a reputation for being aggressive towards tank mates which are too active.   Any thoughts...
