Well he's not 30" he's probably uncrooked a little over 12" and the tank is 75 gallon show tank deep. Do you mean 48" as in depth?

He'll dive down then float backwards up, his tail pulls him back up to the surface. Broken back?

I live in NY and use tap water. I put in Stress Coat immediately afterwards and that seems to clear it up somewhat. Holly

Unfortunately he doesn't play well with others so I can't keep anything in the tank with him, he'll pretty much eat anything.
