not sure about the light. im getting an new light for the good tank today so i will ask the lfs. the light on the bad tank came with it so i will be able to check. im also taking some of the water in to be tested as well. will post pics of the two tanks a bit later

no direct sunlight, it doesnt get any more light than my other tank, tho i am seeing if cutting that back will make any difference i was having the light on when i didnt have any fish in it too, and that didnt generate any algae.

now that is seriously cool you may be able to name your own breed of fish. keep us posted.

yeh, thats exactly what it looked like i have a feeling it may have been the new plants i put in a couple of weeks ago. the lfs i got them from is very reputable tho, got the silver dollars and yellows from them.

take is about 9 months old, only loss prior was an angel from fighting. my fiance checked the levels a couple days ago and was fine afaik

there is something similar to that fishighway in the jackie chan movie "Dragons Forever" all you see is a pipe with a couple goldfish going thru it, same idea tho.

I have white gravel in my tank at the moment, but much prefer the look of sand. what is the process to do the changeover? i dont really have anywhere to store my fish in the mean time.

When doing a marine tank, is it possible to start it as a fish and live rock only tank, then after a while, upgrade it to a reef tank, buying all the necesarry lighting and stuff. or do you have to totally decommission the tank and start again if you want to add coral?

my fiance's dad breeds them all the time. Its just a matter of getting the fry out before they get eaten by the parents. He also feeds them white worm.
